You need to install msagent.exe from the microsoft site, and then you need to add the reference to "Microsoft Agent Control 2.0" OCX. Now you should be able to run downloaded sample script and create and run your own agent character scripts.
That script uses to save some files during script is run. To run downloaded ‘multiple_agents.vbs’ file you must also modify file like following (to edit file, right click and select edit or open with notepad). character file did not install correctly. select reinstalling using recommended settings, installation should end silently without any messages and you can find installed character file on c:\windows\msagent\chars\-folder. To be able to run this script you need some additional work. after you get reply email you can download hotfix by clicking download link. to download hotfix you must submit your email-address to get link for downloading.
you can down load this ‘Microsoft Agent-enabled programs do not work in Windows 7’ hotfix on as seen on picture 3. if there is no hotfix for agent control installed on windows 7 you get error messageĪnyway these characters/components are supported on windows 7 and you have to download hotfix-file from microsoft download to enable using of them. Picture 1.vbs-script to create microsoft agent control however these characters are not pre-installed on windows 7, as you see on pictures 1 and 2 where script creating agent control is run on windows 7 computer that has no these characters installed. In windows xp there where microsoft agent characters pre-installed, so you could easily use them with scripting.
